Prehnite is a silicate gemstone composed of calcium and aluminium. The gemstone is found in Australia, South Africa and China, as well as Scotland and the USA. Prehnite usually takes the colour green though has been white, brown and colourless. Prehnite has been believed to aid spiritual communication, and increase energy. Originally Prehnite was used as an ornamental stone but due to its affordability, more recently it has become a jewellery stone. Prehnite is not a relatively hard stone and has a Mohs score of 6-06.5/10. The durability is fairly average however care must be taken as the stone is quite brittle.
