Pure Pearls grow in mussels, and about 95% of production comes from China. The pearl comes in a variety of shapes such as droplet, button and oval, the rarest being round. Freshwater pearls are most commonly about 7mm to 8mm in size. Pure Pearls are used in a wide range of jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The pearl is quite fragile and not very durable, so adequate care must be taken during wear and storage.
